Preparation of Zinc Acetate Solution:
Dissolve 1.0 g of zinc acetate dihydrate in 20 mL of absolute ethanol under continuous stirring until fully dissolved.
Preparation of NaOH Solution:
Separately, dissolve 0.2 g of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in 20 mL of absolute ethanol.
Precipitation Reaction:
Gradually add the NaOH solution drop by drop into the zinc acetate solution while continuously stirring for 30 minutes to form ZnO precursors.
Thermal Treatment:
Heat the resulting mixture in a water bath at 70°C for 2 hours to facilitate the formation of ZnO nanoparticles.
Washing and Drying:
Wash the ZnO NPs thoroughly with ethanol and distilled water to remove any residual impurities.
Leave the washed ZnO NPs to air-dry at 50°C for 24 hours.
Annealing for Crystallization:
Collect the dried ZnO NPs in powder form and anneal them in a muffle furnace at 500°C for 2 hours to enhance crystallinity.
Final Collection:
The synthesized undoped ZnO nanoparticles are now ready for further characterization and applications.
